PROFILE Art Professional with over 20 years experience in art dealing and consulting, and over 5 years as a professional fine art appraiser. I am active in the secondary art market, especially for those who have inherited art, and wish to sell, and brokering and collections, as well as art advising for buyers and collection building. Presently, I am advising in all aspects of art research for authenticity, appraising, condition and provenance, and selling into appropriate markets. Gallery owner from 1984 to 1992 and gallery employee from 1979 to 1982.
In 1983 I worked as an independent art consultant. Dealing and appraising
activities include the following: Post War and Contemporary American and
Canadian, Impressionism and 20th Century American Impressionism styles,
English and French 19 Century and early 20th Century, Modern Masters,
Modernism, American Abstract Expressionism, and others, for paintings,
drawings, original prints, sculptures and photographs. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE KAGAN FINE ART 1982 to present Daily activities include buying and selling art. Owned and operated the Kagan Gallery, Inc., Toronto, open to the public from 1984 through 1992. Art consulted for corporate and private clients. Work with designers and architects. Art Advising and Museum tours. Art appraising reports for all needs including insurance scheduling and damage and loss claims, appraisal for charitable donations, estate settlements, legal cases and preparation for the secondary art market. advising with client services. Part time as needed.
Contemporary American and Canadian painting, drawing and sculpture. Represented
artists. Corporate clients included Morgan Bank, NY., many designers and
architects and private collectors. Large loft downtown space well suited
to large format art, especially included landscape, abstract and genre
painting. Monthly shows of new work. 80 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Canada
